Once Upon a Time: How We Started

Once upon a time, back in the ancient mists of the 1980’s, there were two kids who loved books. They hadn’t met yet. They wouldn’t meet for quite a while. But they both loved stories. They loved to read them, to tell them, to build them, and to share them. Stories were comforting, exciting, amazing, and educating.

Many years later, they had adult responsibilities, financial considerations, job worries, parenting challenges, and all those fretful things that go along with being labeled a Grown-Up. The world was big and messy and scary, too, but they still wanted to tell stories and help others share their stories. So they came up with a wild plan: they would start a publishing company! They would focus on soothing stories and underrepresented authors, and most of all, they would get to share stories. That is how Cozy Nook Publishing began, two book-loving kids, who wanted to share stories with the world.
