Amazing Little Bookshops: Underground Books

We love finding lovely little bookshops, and we want to share our finds with you! So as we find excellent stores we will post about them. Underground Books has a beautiful selection of books in a below-ground-level shop! The shop is just below street level, so you open the shop door (inwards) and duck down to enter, walking down a few steps to their actual shop floor. The interior is elegant dark wood, with several little rooms and nooks to explore. A cute arrangement of “Blind Date with a Book” section stand beguilingly right in front of you as you enter, and a good display of “What’s new” greets you on your left, just below one of the only windows in the intriguingly sunken shop. A beautiful archway of books leads you further in. There are, of course, many shelves of books, the tomes displayed so that you just can’t resist picking them up to see what they’re about. Some gorgeous classic first editions rest behind a locked case, and a sense of antique magic and mystery permeates the shop. We loved our visit!
